Week 9 – Power of Affirmations

I believe some people have minds that simply never stop “talking” to them, while other people have minds that seem to have much better manners, so to speak, and are able to adjust their activity to appropriate times and places.  I believe this to be so especially in light of the 32 years of observation on my part of the vast differences between the mind of my husband and myself.

You see, I have one of those minds that never stops.  It seems as though I lack the ability to simply have A thought and let it be.  All of my thoughts lead me to more thoughts and so on and so on, ad infinitum.  That’s just the way it is, and the way it has always been.  My husband on the other hand, has an ability to have a thought and then on command, can simply slip into a “nothing box” where there is literally nothing going on in his head.  This would explain why he can fall asleep at night inside of 3 minutes while I struggle to make it happen within an hour.  Another one of those male vs. female things that just is not fair.

I totally loved the idea of introducing new affirmations this week.  I’ve recited different affirmations through the years because I knew even back then how important it was to feed my brain positive re-enforcing thoughts and since my mind seemed to be engaged 24/7, I might as well put it to work for me and control the thoughts and information that I was feeding it.  The addition of the affirmation “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, harmonious and happy” creates a physical shift in my body that I can feel when I repeat it.  I love the material  in MKMMA and actually arrive to our webinar each week hungry for more!  Bring it on!!
